Manhattan Sunrise (#81)

I know it's not the best picture, but give me some credit, it was five in the morning and we had been up and about in the city all day. We went to a rooftop party in Brooklyn at midnight and got back to Brian and Courtney's place in Jersey City a little before 4. And we were up talking until Brian looked out the window and said, It's getting light out. We have to go to bed now.

Going out into New Orleans again today. More updates to come.

Lafitte (#80)

Ok, so I know I owe a lot of photos before this... but today is day 9 on the road trip and we found ourselves in Lafitte's Blacksmith Pub in New Orleans tonight, which is the oldest bar in the United States. All of the woodwork and brick is original and it is lit solely by candlelight. At 9:00 p.m. Mike (i'm forgetting his last name right now) started playing the piano. After ordering a drink we walked to the back of the bar and found they had barstools around the piano. We had a seat and stayed for over three hours. Mike was amazing, good-humored and willing to take requests. While expensive, it was a great night.

Road Trip

Tomorrow morning, at approximately 6:30 a.m., my friend Emily and I are embarking on a two-week road trip, east and south. I will try to make updates throughout the trip, but it's not my goal to search for wi-fi hot spots. If I find one with some free time, I'll post some pics of our progress.

Monday's goal: Seafood dinner at Captain Carlo's in Glouchster, MA. (about an hour North of Boston). Tuesday we head to NYC. Now, trying to get some sleep so I can drag myself out of bed at 6 in the morning.
