Yeah Yeah Yeahs (#112)

The opening of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs set at Lollapalooza Saturday, August 8.

I don't think this is the best version of this photo I've ever seen, but I thought I would experiment a little while shooting Lolla this past weekend. It's still pretty cool.

Rooftops (#110)

Yesterday's RedEye cover. Story on how rooftop bars/restaurants are new "cool" place to be. This shot is from downtown hotel The Wit's new sky-high hangout, Roof. It was a pretty nice place, though I probably couldn't afford the ice.

Chicago Street Fashion (#108)

Today's RedEye cover story explored finding fashionable looks at inexpensive prices. So, RedEye's web editor Steph Yiu and I searched the rough streets of Michigan Avenue to see if we could spot some fashion finds -- for cheap.

Ponytail (#105)

Baltimore art rock/experimental band Ponytail performing at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago. While the fans went crazy and the set was highly reviewed, the music wasn't quite my style. The group's antics made for some good shots though. The bottom shot of lead singer Molly Siegel was published on the front of the Chicago Tribune's Live section Monday, July 20. Shot Saturday, July 18, 2009.

Peter Silberman - The Antlers (#104)

Peter Silberman, lead singer and guitarist for New York indie band, The Antlers. Shot on the second day of the Pitchfork Music Festival, they were the first band I really enjoyed. They are full of emotion and connect comfortably with their audience. Shot July 18, 2009.

Tattoo Cover (#103)

Portrait of a Chicago tattoo artist shot for a story on tattoo trends, used for Wednesday's cover.

This guy was awesome, a real character. He was fun to work with and kept saying, "I'm famous" through the whole shoot. Now he really is.

Johnny Depp (#88)

Tomorrow's RedEye cover. I had the opportunity to shoot the premiere of "Public Enemies" starring Johnny Depp, Christian Bale and Marion Cotillard. All three celebrities attended the premiere along with director Michael Mann. It was definitely a paparazzi moment for me, but still very exciting. More photos of the premiere coming soon.
